Shadegg to announce majority leader candidacy tomorrow?

From the National Journal:

Republicans close to Rep. John Shadegg strongly hint that he will announce his candidacy for majority leader this afternoon or tomorrow. His spokesman says his boss is still making calls and hasn’t made up his mind.

But Town Hall says that “[f]or Shadegg to win… the Republican Study Committee must vote almost entirely en bloc for him. Many of the members of the RSC have already pledged support elsewhere, but it would not be unwise or unethical to retract support for the other two candidates should Shadegg throw his hat in the ring.”

We’ll see. They could do a hell of a lot worse than Shadegg.

Not only could they do worse than Shadegg…they probably will…

That would be too bad. I’m impressed that the first thing the guy did was send out an announcement to his e-mail list — which anyone can sign up for on his website.

Also, he voted on the right side of the flag-desecration bill and some other bills. I respect a conservative that doesn’t pander to the non-freedom wing of the party.
