All AZ House members vote to lift Canadian drug ban

Republicans and Democrats alike in the House — and especially in Arizona — voted down a Big Pharm supported amendment to keep a ban on importing cheaper medications. Everyone gets a gold star.

Voted Aye: Nobody
Voted No: Renzi, Franks, Shadegg, Pastor, Mitchell, Flake, Grijalva, Giffords

In the Senate, Jon Kyl opposes lifting the ban.

So in plain English, Jon Kyl still supports the right of drug companies to selectively gouge Americans.

There was a time when our Government was interested in helping protect us from those who want to screw us over, instead of helping them apply the screws.

Don’t forget who of the above now voting for drug price negotiations voted for the Medicare Plan D- a fluctuating fiasco with no price negotiations in place. Most senior citizens who signed up for one of the multitude of choices (30+ here in AZ alone the first year) from the start are now being totally screwed by the multitude of insurance companies and their multitude of plans. All of the insurance companies jumped in with their “bargain” lowest bids to capture as many unsuspecting seniors as they could at the start. In the second year of Plan D – they had already pared down heading toward the bone by reducing benefits, availablility, plan choices, etc. – and, needless to say, while raising prices. It is another private industry health care scam. Try weeding your way through it and make sure you can understand and assess every option, be willing to change to your newly perceived best of the worst options, and be able to do it every annual enrollment period, ad infinitum. They’ve got you where they want you.
