Giffords holding off on endorsing a Presidential candidate

Daniel Scarpinato reports:

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords says she is holding off on endorsing for president until she sees who spends the most time in her back yard.

“What I’ve told the presidential candidates is that I’d like them to come to Southern Arizona,” Giffords recently told the Explorer’s Craig Grau. “I want them to make a commitment to Southern Arizona before I make a commitment to them.”

Neighboring Democratic Rep. Raúl Grijalva has thrown his support behind John Edwards.

Read the whole interview with Giffords in the Explorer News. She discusses healthcare and the STRIVE Act.

“I want them to make a commitment to Southern Arizona before I make a commitment to them.” Pure Gabby.

Which actually means: “I’ll continue to dodge any question until such time my response has no political consequences.” In other words, after the primary, I’ll endorse the nominee so I don’t have to worry about upsetting the left wingers in my district.
