Rick Renzi was a no-show at last week’s League of Women Voters candidate forum in Verde Valley; Ellen Simon and David Schlosser attended nonetheless. The Verde Valley Independent takes quotes from Renzi’s website to balance their story, which is just sad.

“just sad” is an understatement.
I was at the forum. Renzi was not. In fact, he has not agreed to appear with Ellen and David even one time in our entire district.
No surprise to someone who has lived here 5 years and has never seen him in our city.
I hope the Verde Independent prints the letter to their editor I sent objecting to the news coverage of a candidate that was not present at The League of Women Voters forum and that it never, ever happens again.
Ellen and David and the voters deserve better.
Yes, giving someone who did not participate the debate a chance to express his views (or rebut his opponents) without fear of rebuttal is a joke.
That kind of “journalism” is simply unprofessional and that in itself is PITIFUL. Must be a repug pub to fill in the incumbent’s glaring gaps like that. TRUE REPORTAGE would have included the FACT that the men did not SHOW UP and did not SAY ANYTHING.
